UPAYA PENGEMBANGAN INDUSTRI BATIK TULIS KELOMPOK “BERKAH LESTARI” DI DUSUN GIRILOYO/KARANGKULON DESA WUKIRSARI KECAMATAN IMOGIRI KABUPATEN BANTUL

Abstract

Giriloyo/Karangkulon at Wukirsari Village Imogiri Bantul DIY is a central areas of classical batik industry. The society managed to keep the cultural heritage objects in order to continue to make the Giriloyo/Karangkulon and its surroundings became one of the interesting sights for tourists. However, due to limited capital and competence of the hamlet community Giriloyo/Karangkulon, Giriloyo/Karangkulon only as a laborer batik with classical motifs only, and can not make innovations to compete in order to win the global market. Until in 2007 after the earthquake in Yogyakarta, the hamlet community Giriloyo/Karangkulon with NGO formed several groups batik one named "Blessing Lestari". This research is to see the development of batik industry Blessing Group Lestari using SWOT analysis.
