    Abstract
    This study discusses the Prisoners' Independence Development Program through Job Training at Class IIA Yogyakarta Prisons. The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of prisoners' self-reliance development programs and the factors that influence training activities starting with various implementations to realize prisoners with self-reliance skills. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative in which primary data is obtained by asking questions to official officers related to the implementation of development activities of structurally divided officers. The data collection technique was done by means of observation, interviews, and documentation. The indicators in this study use theory according to Mahmudi, including inputs, processes, outputs, and outcomes. Based on this research, it is known that the effectiveness of the prisoners' independence development program has been running optimally related to several supporting factors including the motivation of prisoners, professional officers, and the creation of a conducive atmosphere between prisoners and officers.
